Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
At Branxton Public School, we do this through:
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)
Our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program fosters a culture of respect, responsibility, and personal best. Through this initiative, we encourage students to embody these values in their daily interactions, creating a supportive and inclusive environment. By promoting positive behaviours, we empower students to take ownership of their actions and strive for excellence in all aspects of their school life, ensuring a thriving community for everyone.
Zones of Regulation (ZoR)
We implement the Zones of Regulation (ZoR) framework to help students identify and manage their emotions effectively. By teaching them to recognise their feelings and behaviours, we individualise support to ensure they can regulate themselves and remain in their optimal learning zone. This approach fosters self-awareness and emotional resilience, empowering students to engage fully in their learning and create a positive and productive classroom environment.
Ready to Learn Plans
We utilise Ready to Learn Plans for students who require additional support. These tailored plans combine elements of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), Zones of Regulation (ZoR), and Berry Street training to address individual needs effectively. By integrating these approaches, we create a comprehensive support system that empowers students to develop self-regulation skills, enhance their emotional well-being, and engage positively in their learning journey, ensuring every child can thrive.
